Updates

Been a while now since I have updated the blog. The plan was to update every week; well things have been very busy!! So Ill start from a couple weeks back and update from there to catch you all up!

Weekend of May 1st - May 1st was my birthday; 28 year young! We left the night before to head to Montana for the weekend. We had met Reilly's sister and parents there - Reilly's Grandpa, Papa, had been really sick and in the hospital and hadn't been turning for the better. We wanted to make a trip up to MT to see him. Its hard because you always hate thinking it may be the last time you see him, it just seems so final and going out there and seeing him, you just so badly want to think, oh this is so great I get to see you and cant wait for the next time! Well, I can update now that I am so glad we did go out to see him when we did. Papa, Marvin Smith, passed away yesterday May 9th. He had just turned 88 years old on Friday, May 7th. I didn't get to know Papa very well, but I did know he was a very strong, smart, selfless, caring man. Marvin and his wife, Elaine, aka "Bunnie", has raised a wonderful family! One that I am blessed to be a part of. His life and memories will forever live on. Papa was an Attorney in Great Falls Montana. He went to University of Washington and played football with them and played in a Rose Bowl! He will be missed and forever loved! (I will add a pic once I get my hands on one)

Not expecting anything on my birthday at all, as we were in Montana and there for other reasons, I had a very pleasant surprise when we met up at Grandmas house that morning. They had a beautiful champagne cake and cards and presents from everyone :) I am so lucky! One of the biggest surprises of all was a gift waiting for me from Ashley and Lindsay!!! So thoughtful and sweet of them to send me a gift at all, let alone have it sent to Grandma's house! Love you girls!! I was spoiled for my b.day and am so thankful!! We went and saw Papa that day - he was having a good day, and it was so great to see him.

That evening we went to a Gary Allen concert with Reilly's sister, Quinn and a couple of her friends. I had no idea who he was, I am not a country music fan. But he was actually really good! We very much enjoyed ourselves.

We came home Monday, it was a quick week, I had to leave Tuesday for Las Vegas for work. I was there for less than 24 hours. Came home late Wednesday and worked from home Thursday - was exhausted!! Had been working with our legal team on a case and had been staying up until 2 am working on getting him information... blah blah.
Needless to say was very much looking forward to the weekend!

Weekend of May 8th (Reilly's Birthday; 31 years young!) - we had a couple friends in town for everyone's Birthday, we have a lot of May birthdays amongst us friends, (Reilly, Anthony, Bridget, Lisa, Brenda and myself) so we decided to all celebrate on Saturday, also Reilly's actual birthday!! We started the day Saturday, at Pesos for breakfast, then from there we went to the Sounders Soccer game. There were 6 of us that had seats together - it was fun! Then from there we went to our friends and had a BBQ. Reilly and I decided to get a hotel downtown that evening - so we just cabbed it back to the hotel after the BBQ and again sunday we had beautiful weather! We got up and walked to Pikes Market and just, people watched, got some food and walked around for a couple hours!
I'm glad we did it, we live in such a great city with some great stuff to do and just take it for granted sometimes.
Then we came home and drove north to find a beach with the hound. We drove to the Whidbey Island Ferry take off point - they have a huge beach/park there. We took Madison down by the water, she wanted to go swimming so bad but there were too many people to let her off her leash. We were sitting by this family that was fishing and one of the little buys, probably 5 was fishing and his fishing line/hook got caught on Madison's foot, I took it out and the little boy kept saying to his dad... "Guess what I caught"?! Guess what I caught?!!... A DOG!!!! :)
It was so cute!!!

Then we went home laid on the couch for a bit and went to dinner. After dinner, our busy weekend had caught up to us and by 8:00 we were in bed, exhausted, watching our new favorite series. Friday Night Lights! We are only on the first season, episode 7 or 8. Trying to catch up quick! I think there are like 5 series!

Well, now you are all caught up :) I will update you again on this week, early next week!
